There is something wonderfully personal about giving someone a book you’ve handpicked for them. So, this Christmas, with the help of Value Village, I selected some pre-loved books to give as gifts to my loved ones. Here are a few I chose which may help inspire you in your search…
For my close friend’s new baby I curated a mini-library of board books that have been a hit in our house (my son loved helping find these gems).
Coffee Table Book
For my husband, I found a beautiful book about his favourite Canadian hero, Terry Fox, and gave a donation in his name to the Terry Fox Foundation. Bonus: This book also happens to be written by one of our favourite Canadian authors, Douglas Coupland).
For a few friends who love to be in the kitchen I chose cookbooks that would help them in their culinary adventures and purchased a key ingredient to wrap up with each. A cookie recipe book with Ghiradelli chocolate baking chips and Sriracha cookbook with a bottle of the classic hot sauce.
Christmas is a time for giving and it’s always nice to find ways to embrace this while still being economical and eco-friendly. Plus, if you have little ones who you are taking along with you while you shop, they tend to be easily entertained in the used book section. Stress-free shopping for a change…who could ask for anything more?
